When I first hired an illustrator to do the cover, conveying the look of the Spellshooter was important to me. Not only because it’s quite unique, but also because I wanted it to feature prominently on the cover. Fortunately, my illustrator really got what I was after. Here is his initial sketch containing several versions of how it could look. The orb at the top holds the spells, but initially I had the idea to have the spells contained within the handle.
