Here it is! The cover for book 5 of the Royal Institute of Magic, The Last Guardian. The boy in the picture is actually Ben Greenwood (not the last guardian, who has yet to be found). Also, you may have noticed the setting of the cover is based in our world, rather than the Unseen Kingdoms, which is where some of the action happens in this book. The book will be released on Wednesday, 14th September.

I had the fortune to read your 5th in the series on my birthday, 72 years old, and was totally spellbound. Fantastic suspense through the whole story! Great story telling, thanks so much for all 5 books. It’s going to be a long wait for book 6, maybe I will just read all 5 one more time while waiting. 🙂 You are definitely one of my most favorite writers and magic has played a large part and a remarkable role in an exciting and at times scary long life. Magic is the spice of life, it can show itself in the most unexpected situations; a rainbow after a horrendous downpour, a great idea when your stuck or help when you least expected it, finding a friend you thought lost or falling in love with your soul mate. These are all magic. No, I can’t wiggle my nose and a spellscaster appears in my hands but I can add have wished on a star or a double rainbow and wonderful magic has happened.

These books are GREAT! As a middle school teacher, I’m always looking for books that will entice young (& old) readers. I’ve devoured the series, as has my 11 year old daughter. My 9 year old is working on the first book now, although a bit more slowly. My birthday is September 14th, so I’m very excited to be reading the final book on that day! Congratulations on your success. It would be great to see your books at a TV series some day. You’re now on my list of top favorite young-adult/adolescent literary authors.
