Thank you to everyone who has entered our competition so far. We’ve had a lot of fun reading the submissions. Such a good reminder of the richness of the series! Here’s one we received last week:
“I love Charlie Hornberger. He is an unassuming person, but has a backbone of steel when push comes to shove. He’s a loyal best friend that trusts Ben’s instincts above all else.” – J.L.
If you haven’t had a chance to enter the competition, please do (details below). The competition will end on 30 November – so you’ve still got time!
We wish you a wonderful week and look forward to hearing from you soon.

Here is a follow-on message from Darren, Victor’s younger brother. If you missed our last newsletter, Darren had included a special message to RIM readers. Check your email inbox for that 6 November newsletter.
Welcome!
Darren here again, and as I said in the last newsletter, I had given some serious thought as to what I could do each year to celebrate my brother’s life. Not dread this time of year, but anticipate it as an opportunity to remember him by.
And so it came to me: each year on Vic’s birthday why don’t I publish a book? It seemed like a good idea, the perfect idea in fact. The only problem of course, I’d have to write one…
So I did!
Now before you get excited, it is not an off-shoot of the Royal Institute of Magic. It’s something entirely new in the same genre of urban fantasy, and the scheduled release date is my brother’s birthday: 18 December 2022.
In the next newsletter, I’ll be releasing my new author website, as well as the artwork for you to see!
I hope you’re as excited as I am. 😉
All the best,
Darren
