From Tara (Victor’s wife):
It is with my deepest sorrow that I inform you of the passing of my beloved husband Victor. He died on the afternoon of 5 November 2016. At the time, he was in the middle of writing Book 6, the final instalment in his series Royal Institute of Magic.
Three days before he passed away, he wrote the following letter to you – his fans. If you are interested in Victor’s writing and his wishes for the future, please read on.

A letter from Victor Kloss:
Dear Readers and Fans,
It has been my privilege to entertain you these past two years. I wanted to share some news that nobody (least of all me) is happy about. I won’t harp on, but there are a few things I’d like say, and I’m sorry if they cause you pain.
Physical condition
Throughout my life I have had physical issues, which have slowly impacted me over the years. I have a serious liver disease, as well as lung disease, and an entirely inadequate immune system. Although I’ve managed to live a wonderful life (loving family, wife and daughter) I have finally hit a hurdle that I just can’t jump.
Cancer
I have an aggressive form of Lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system). I’ve been fighting it for a while, but it has reached a stage where I only have days left. Now, I’m hoping your first thought isn’t about Book 6! But I will get to that and I have a plan.
Help
I’m only thirty-five years old, yet I make a good income from writing, which I love. However, I have a wife and 3-year-old daughter (who doesn’t know yet), and one of my biggest worries is that my wife will not be able to support herself as a single mother.
What you can do
In desperation, I’ve turned to Patreon knowing other artists have been funded in such a manner. So many of you have expressed your delight in the Royal Institute of Magic that I thought you would be willing to return the favour by pledging a small amount. Your support will ensure the completion of Book 6, and it will further other projects, such as my audio books currently in production. It will also ensure new readers continue to discover this series.
Most importantly: Book 6!
With your help and support, we will finish Book 6, although there may be a brief delay. First of all, I have some writing contacts (including a few big ones), and I am working with them to find a suitable fantasy author who can take this project to completion. Secondly, I have started Book 6, and I also have a chapter outline of the whole story. My brother (who reads all my projects and knows the story better than anyone) will take over the responsibility of deciding on a suitable author.
I’m really excited to bring the conclusion of this story to my readers and fans. You’ve been so loyal.
In closing
Whatever you choose to decide, it’s been an absolute pleasure knowing you all.
Regards,
Victor Kloss
Author of Royal Institute of Magic

We too offer our condolence to the family. Just finished the last book and found out about his passing. Our hearts go out to his family, our prayers are with you.
I just recently began reading this series thru Amazon and feel in love with it. I was sadden to hear of the very talented author’s passing. My deepest condolences to his wife and young daughter. I do pray this gets turned into a movie franchise!
I just finished reading book 3 and I read at the end your husband’s promise to return any emails within 24 hours and I thought about what a goofy nice thing that was for an author to say. So I was trying to find out more about what he was like and where he was from and I saw the stories of his death and pictures of you and his child. He must have been the kindest most humble guy and it looks like he loved you so much I am so very sorry for your family’s loss and I am so happy that he left such a meaningful and enjoyable legacy for you all He was something else I imagine and I’m glad you found each other I hope that you find some peace and joy in your life and that you and your family are as happy as he would have wanted you to be
Tara
Thank you for sharing your husband and his talents with us. His influence has crossed oceans.
It has been a comfort to me to know that in God’s plan families can be together again after this life. I hope that may give you some small degree of comfort as well.
I am so sorry for your loss; you have my deepest sympathy.
It’s been months waiting for book 6 why did you have to die so early
Dear, Tara
I am deeply lost for words. i am sorry to hear your husband has pasted. i don’t claim to know your struggles or your hurt, but i can understand the lost of a love one. My condolences to you and your daughter.
Now if you may let me tell my story of knowing your husband as a writer. Even if it was brief and indirectly. i know your husband by his books (Royal Institution of Magic) the series 1-5. I went on an adventure with him tho, throughout his books by audio 1-4 and reading his 5th one. I was amazed by how clearly i can picture the story as if watching it like movie or being there myself without being seen. What i’m trying to say is that your husband won’t be forgotten . I have enjoyed Mr. Victor’s books. Thank you for sharing your adventures Victor.
Regards,
– Jorge
Tara,
I am so sorry for your loss. Victor sounds as if he was an amazing person. I just discovered his books a week ago and have just finished the 5th book today. This series is a wonderful story, every book kept my full and undivided attention. I have given 5 stars to each book. Victor’s talent as a writer will be missed by all who chance to read his books. My prayers go out to you and your little girl. May you have peace and joy from the memories of your husband. May you have the strength you need to go on without him.
Blessings to you,
Deanne

I’m so sorry to hear of this loss. He was a talented writer.
I was sad by the departure of such a talented writer. Hopefully the books can lead to a movie deal and some one worthy can manage the task of ending this amazing series. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
I am so terribly sorry for your loss. I only recently discovered the joy of reading the Royal Insitite of Magic series, finishing book 5 just tonight.
