My Deepest Sorrow

victor2

From Tara (Victor’s wife):

It is with my deepest sorrow that I inform you of the passing of my beloved husband Victor. He died on the afternoon of 5 November 2016. At the time, he was in the middle of writing Book 6, the final instalment in his series Royal Institute of Magic.

Three days before he passed away, he wrote the following letter to you – his fans. If you are interested in Victor’s writing and his wishes for the future, please read on.

…

A letter from Victor Kloss:

Dear Readers and Fans,

It has been my privilege to entertain you these past two years. I wanted to share some news that nobody (least of all me) is happy about. I won’t harp on, but there are a few things I’d like say, and I’m sorry if they cause you pain.

Physical condition
Throughout my life I have had physical issues, which have slowly impacted me over the years. I have a serious liver disease, as well as lung disease, and an entirely inadequate immune system. Although I’ve managed to live a wonderful life (loving family, wife and daughter) I have finally hit a hurdle that I just can’t jump.

Cancer
I have an aggressive form of Lymphoma (cancer of the lymphatic system). I’ve been fighting it for a while, but it has reached a stage where I only have days left. Now, I’m hoping your first thought isn’t about Book 6! But I will get to that and I have a plan.

Help
I’m only thirty-five years old, yet I make a good income from writing, which I love. However, I have a wife and 3-year-old daughter (who doesn’t know yet), and one of my biggest worries is that my wife will not be able to support herself as a single mother.

What you can do
In desperation, I’ve turned to Patreon knowing other artists have been funded in such a manner. So many of you have expressed your delight in the Royal Institute of Magic that I thought you would be willing to return the favour by pledging a small amount. Your support will ensure the completion of Book 6, and it will further other projects, such as my audio books currently in production. It will also ensure new readers continue to discover this series.

Most importantly: Book 6!
With your help and support, we will finish Book 6, although there may be a brief delay. First of all, I have some writing contacts (including a few big ones), and I am working with them to find a suitable fantasy author who can take this project to completion. Secondly, I have started Book 6, and I also have a chapter outline of the whole story. My brother (who reads all my projects and knows the story better than anyone) will take over the responsibility of deciding on a suitable author.

I’m really excited to bring the conclusion of this story to my readers and fans. You’ve been so loyal.

In closing
Whatever you choose to decide, it’s been an absolute pleasure knowing you all.

Regards,

Victor Kloss
Author of Royal Institute of Magic

Victor’s passion in life was writing. Although our hearts are broken, I’m so pleased he was able to share his imagination with you. You brought him endless amounts of happiness in his final months, weeks and days.

Sincerely,

Tara

    My condolences.
Your husband left something that will endure and only grow more popular as time pauses. What an amazing storyteller he was!
Please find some solace in the knowledge that you and your daughter will be able to reconnect with Victor whenever you revisit his books. They must have been a labor of love for him.
I pray that the funding for the completion of his final book and his legacy happens swiftly.
No one can help you process your grief but know that if we could we would help to carry your burden.
    My deepest sympathies.

I have not read the books, I came across an add on Facebook and thought that they sound like a great read. I wanted to know more about the author ( like what other books he may have written,) and was saddened by the news of his passing. I’m so sorry for your loss, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I planned on buying all the books anyway, and look forward to reading them. Now I will buy them sooner. Again I’m sorry for your loss.

I hope many come apon his work and read them as well. Again, I’m ttruely sorry to hear of his passing a few months back. But he still lives thro his work in his books. ❤

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. Victor was taken from you far too early. As a Hospice Nurse I see losses almost every day. But, Victor has left a legacy that will endure for many years to come. Thank you kindly for sharing your message with us his loyal readers. May God bless and keep you and your family always.

I only found this series this past week and ran through all five in short order. As many have i came here looking for book 6 only to find this sad news.
Nothing I say here will mean anything to the rest of the world but I must say I have read the series as an escape from dealing with our own sad reality. You see my spouse of 38 years has been diagnosed with cancer and we are fighting it as well.
That being as it may be, we offer our condolences and will purchase the sixth book to help in what little way that will do.
May God Bless and watch over you as you raise your child. Don’t let her forget how talented and loving your husband and her father was.

I am a young reader who was drawn to this series through kindle. These books gave me great pleasure and I could not stop reading them for hours and hours at night. I am very shocked at this sudden happening and I can’t express the feeling of grief you must be feeling. But better days would surely come for you and your family. Victor sir’s book tought me the beauty of magic and imagination which I will never forget. Always remember that he will always be remembered through his amazing books and will live in our hearts. I hope you and your daughter live in his happy memories and always have the strength to overcome the hardships of life.
